Our first session of 2018 is NEXT WEEK! First tournament NEXT WEEKEND!!

Hi Beachcombers,

It’s been a long, cold winter but it’s finally time to dust off those gloves & cleats because we’re back outdoors starting NEXT WEEK! Our first session of the season takes place next Wednesday 18th April at 6pm in Preston Park!

We also have our first tournament of the season the following weekend! Solent Firstball takes place on Sunday 22nd April in Portsmouth. Please let me know if you’d like to play!

It’s now time to register as a member of the Brighton Beachcombers! Registration is required to ensure all of our players are covered by our insurance with the British Softball Federation. Full details are further down in this email.

I’d also like to say how honoured I am to have been re-elected as president of the club for the 2018 season. The last couple of years have seen our club grow bigger and stronger and I’ll be doing my best once again this season to make sure that continues.

See you all on the field next week! Let’s PLAY BALL!

We have a Meetup group for the Beachcombers. If you don’t know www.meetup.com, it’s a great resource to find all kinds of groups in the local area from sports clubs to dining clubs and language classes etc. Primarily we’re using it to promote to and grow the team but it can also serve as a social platform for team chat and to confirm attendance at practices and tourneys.

In order to excite new players to join up we want to demonstrate that we have a thriving team. If you haven’t already done so please sign up FOR FREE to Meetups here. After that you can join the Slowpitch Softball group here and create a profile extolling the virtues of playing softball! :)

Once you’re a member please RSVP to all the practices listed under events to encourage new members to come along. Keep a look out for emails when new team events are posted.

Thank you so much. We’re already getting a lot of new faces signing up, which is awesome!

Don’t forget – Equipment supplier discount!

Do you need a new softball glove, bat or any other equipment? We’ve teamed up with www.baseballandsoftball.co.uk and they’ve very kindly given all Beachcombers members a 10% discount for any orders over £50!
Just use the code BEACHCOMBERS-SOFT-10 when you’re ordering to get the discount. Please note that this discount excludes sale items and kits.

That’s all for now folks!
